Cabinet Refacing vs. Full Replacement: How to Decide

Refacing only works if your existing cabinet boxes are structurally sound — no water damage, no warping, solid mounting to the wall. If they are, refacing at roughly half the cost of full replacement is usually the better call. If they're not, replacement is the right choice regardless of the cost difference, since refacing damaged boxes just delays a bigger problem.
